SUMMARY:The Holler: An Appalachian Youth Ministry Training Event
DESCRIPTION:The Holler\nThe Holler initiative of the TSBC Appalachian Ministry Institute aims to encourage\, affirm\, and equip youth workers\, parents\, and students to fulfill their ministries for God’s glory. \nYouth Workers Training • 10 AM–12 pm\nA Youth-Workers-Only (youth pastors\, leaders\, and volunteers) training will be offered from 10–12 PM\, focusing on “Leader/Volunteer Development” and “Parent Ministry” with Dr. Kyle Boone\, senior pastor of Hambden Congregational Church in Chardon\, OH. Kyle earned his Doctor of Ministry (Rural and Small-Town Pastors Cohort) from Dallas Theological Seminary. \nLunch • 12–1 PM\nStudents (Middle School and High School) and Parents are invited to join us at lunch\, which will be provided from 12–1 PM. \nCombined Training • Youth Workers\, Parents\, Students • 1–3 PM\nTraining for the combined group of Youth Workers\, Students (Middle School and High School)\, and Parents will take place from 1–3 PM\, focusing on “Evangelism & Discipleship for a Keyword Generation” with TSBC President Rex Howe. Rex grew up in Wheelersburg\, OH. He has served as a youth pastor in Ohio and Texas. As a rural pastor in Illinois\, he remained active in youth ministry. Today\, Rex and his wife\, Aimee\, lead a mid-week children’s ministry called F.L.Y. at Wheelersburg Baptist Church. \nSpecial Musical Guest: Isaac Pittman\n \nIsaac Pittman has been writing music and singing songs since he was a little boy. Music has not only been an outlet for him to create and utilize his gifting\, but it has created a space for him to heal\, inspire\, encourage\, and find purpose within the pain. Isaac has been leading worship since he was 18 and has been touring and doing music full-time since moving to Nashville\, TN in 2012. Learn more about Isaac here.
