Institutionally Accredited – ABHE

Accreditation is increasingly critical to ensuring that employers and other institutions recognize and value an institution’s degrees and that students can transfer their credits to another institution or pursue additional credentials at other institutions upon graduation.
The goal of accreditation is to ensure that the education provided to you meets acceptable quality levels. Accrediting agencies develop evaluation criteria and conduct peer evaluations to assess whether those criteria are met. Institutions or programs that meet an agency’s standards are then accredited by that agency.
The USDE removed the terms regional and national regarding accreditation in 2019. Today, accreditation is categorized as institutional (all programs at an institution, like TSBC) or programmatic (only specific programs are accredited at an institution); TSBC’s accreditation is institutional.
